WHO WE ARE
The Hawaiʻi Academy of Arts and Science Public Charter School (HAAS) received its charter in 2001 and is one of the oldest charter schools in Hawaiʻi. In the first year, HAAS served 107 students in grades 9-12. Over time, we have expanded our programs to offer educational opportunities for 750 students in grades K-12. We are located in the Pahoa area on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi.
HAAS has a variety of learning opportunities for students including face to face opportunities and blended/virtual programs. This high school program has been accredited through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) since 2008.
