Mary, Star of the Sea School - School Health Aide

Position Information

Responsibilities:

· Performs focused assessment and treatment of students and staff.

· Coordinates morning health screenings

· Provide basic first aid.

· Coordinate health screening, e.g. vision, hearing, postural screenings.

· Daily log documentation.

· Updates and maintains strict confidentiality of student medical records

· Provides health education to promote wellness and preventative health care.

· Maintain health room

· Contact parents or other agencies as appropriate.

· Assist in personal daily needs.

· Other duties as assigned by the principal.

Qualifications:

· Preferred Certification as a Licenses Practical Nurse (LPN)

· 2-3 years' experience as a Nurse Aide/Health Aide.

· Interest in and an understanding of children and adolescents

· Respect for confidentiality of information

· Typing and computer skills preferred

· Maintain all licenses and certifications as a condition of continued employment.

· Current Hawaii Nurse Aide license.

· Current First Aid and Adult/Child CPR certification.

· Maintain all licenses and certifications as a condition of continued employment
