DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS

POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Director of Admissions is responsible for leading and managing the admissions process. The Director of Admissions is responsible for attracting and recruiting prospective students, developing and implementing recruitment plans, and ensuring a seamless and positive experience for prospective students and their families. The Director of Admissions collaborates with other departments including marketing, advancement, and academics
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Planning and Enrollment Management:
- Develop and implement comprehensive admissions and recruitment strategies to meet enrollment targets.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and internal data to inform strategic decisions.
- Set admission criteria and standards in collaboration with leadership.
- Forecast enrollment numbers and develop contingency plans.
- Oversee the development and management of the admissions budget.
- Recruitment and Outreach:
- Design and execute targeted outreach campaigns (e.g., digital marketing, school events, external school events).
- Coordinate and attend recruitment events, such as school fairs, visits to other schools, host visits from other schools, and open houses.
- Cultivate relationships with prospective students, families, school counselors, community organizations, and alumni.
- Develop and manage a robust customer relationship management (CRM) system for tracking and communicating with prospects.
- Application Review and Decision Making:
- Establish and oversee the process for evaluating applications, including reviewing academic transcripts, essays, recommendations, and extracurricular activities.
- Lead or participate in admissions committee meetings to make acceptance, rejection, or waitlist decisions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant admissions policies, laws, and regulations.
- May interview applicants.
- Marketing and Communication:
- Collaborate with marketing and communications functions to create compelling promotional materials (e.g., brochures, website content, social media).
- Ensure consistent and professional messaging about the School’s programs, values, and student experience.
- Maintain timely and effective communication with prospective students throughout the admissions funnel.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to applications, admissions, and enrollment.
- Prepare regular reports on recruitment progress, trends, and outcomes for executive leadership.
- Use data to identify areas for improvement and adjust recruitment strategies.
- Collaboration and Liaison:
- Work closely with Chief Financial Officer to develop attractive financial aid packages.
- Collaborate with academic departments to understand program offerings and answer student questions.
- Serve as a liaison between the admissions office and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be proficient using a Mac and/or MacBook
- Must be proficient in Google Workspace (e.g., GMail, Google Drive, Google Meet)
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Great people skills - is liked and respected.
- Excellent planning skills - organized; communicates; follows through; evaluates.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to adapt to changing environments and priorities.

- Has the ability to work well under pressure and the ability to reason, think creatively, and solve problems.
- Requires some work on weekends and evenings.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Position requires absolute confidentiality and professionalism in appearance, attitude, and presentation.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in an administration-related field of study preferred. A bachelor’s degree with relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of admissions leadership experience with a proven track record of success including designing and implementing admissions-related policies and campaigns.
WORK SCHEDULE: School hours are M-F 7:30am-4:00pm. Hours can be flexible based on activities/events. Some weekend and evening hours.
