ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT I
Overall Responsibility
The Administrative Assistant II is responsible for directly supporting the administrative needs of the pastor or other assigned ministries of St John The Baptist Church.
Reports to: Pastor Classification: Exempt (S-6)
Position Summary
· Provides administrative support for the pastor (or other individuals/ministries identified by the pastor) including scheduling appointments, parish communications, and other delegated tasks.
· Provides administration and coordination of parish activities and committees/councils including scheduling meetings, and providing administrative and hospitality support.
· Provides support of parish staff including payroll and other human resources duties and may provide volunteer program leadership and administrative support.
· Supports financial operations by participating in preparing information for parish accountant, recordkeeping of parishioner offertory data or donor information or other related duties.
· Participates in outreach and welcoming ministry, assisting in inviting, welcoming and registering new parishioners.
· Coordinates parish events including planning, volunteer coordination, marketing
· Oversees the timely opening and secure closing of the parish office each day.
· Maintains and orders inventory of office supplies.
· Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· Associate’s Degree OR high school diploma and 5-9 years experience
· Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
