Oahu Care Facility is seeking a skilled and passionate Full-Time Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preparing nutritious and delicious meals for our residents. As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our residents receive high-quality, appetizing meals that meet their dietary needs and preferences. Shift is 10am-6:30pm. Healthcare experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary requirements, ensuring quality and consistency.
Plan menus in consultation with the dietary manager, taking into account nutritional guidelines, budget constraints, and resident preferences.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to sanitation and safety standards at all times.
Monitor food inventory levels, place orders for supplies as needed, and rotate stock to minimize waste.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely meal service.
Assist with special events and catering functions as required.
Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working as a cook or chef in a similar setting, preferably in a healthcare facility or senior living community.
Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Hawaii Food Handler's Certificate or ServSafe certification preferred.
