Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to a diverse range of animals - Perform laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and fecal examinations - Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians - Monitor and record patients' vital signs and medical histories - Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures - Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures - Maintain a clean and sterile work environment - Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth clinic operations - Participate in community outreach programs and events
Requirements:
- Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in good standing - Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter - Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior - Excellent animal handling skills and ability to work with a variety of species - Proficiency in laboratory techniques and diagnostic procedures - Ability to multitask and remain calm in high-pressure situations - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - Compassionate and patient demeanor with both animals and people - Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends - Proficiency in veterinary software and basic computer skills - Physical ability to lift and carry animals up to 50 pounds
