Job Title: Facilities Senior Manager – YWCA Kokokahi

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Director, Kokokahi

Job Summary:

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, and

operational efficiency of the YWCA Kokokahi’s 11-acre property. This includes oversight

of buildings, grounds, equipment, and facility staff. The role ensures that the property

reflects the mission, purpose, and values of YWCA O‘ahu.

Essential Duties

Facility Operations & Maintenance

  • Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Supervise and perform repairs, renovations, and upkeep of buildings and grounds.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and equipment; coordinate procurement as needed.

Staff Supervision & Coordination

  • Supervise facilities associates and maintenance staff and contractors.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training and support.
  • Coordinate with other departments for events, tenant needs, and volunteer activities.

Project Management

  • Plan and execute facility improvement projects, including, but not limited to

Commercial Kitchen, Camp & Retreat Cabins, Aquatics and Rental facilities.

  • Review site plans and schematics; select appropriate materials and tools.
  • Recommend and implement changes to improve operational efficiency.

Security & Safety

  • Ensure property security protocols are followed.
  • Respond to emergencies and facility-related complaints.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for staff, tenants/clients, and visitors.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or related field.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and site plans.
  • Familiarity with landscaping, janitorial, and basic repair tasks.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Education

This position requires a high school diploma (or GED or high school equivalence certificate). This position requires experience in maintenance services with ability to perform general daily activities related to plumbing, light electrical, painting, carpentry, mechanical repair, and landscaping with knowledge of general construction. Knowledge and experience with techniques and tools used in one or more of these categories: carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, or welding.

Certification and Licensing

  • Must have valid Hawaii State Class A Driver's License.
  • Background check and drug testing may be required for hire.
  • YWCA Oahu will furnish costs for all trainings required. Required to pass other certification and/or trainings, such as Emergency Preparedness, Fire Safety, General Safety Training, Hazard Communications (GHS) OSHA-10, CPR/First Aid, and other safety trainings and professional development, as required.

Tools & Technology

  • Requires daily use of personal smartphone (defined as mobile device that combines cellular and mobile computing functions into one unit) for the purpose of communicating with supervisors and vendors, payroll and routine schedules, daily on-site coordination, documenting facilities conditions with video and photographs, and other tasks assigned.
  • Operates vehicles, and other facilities equipment, including power tools related to building and grounds upkeep.
  • Requires use of harness safety and fall protection equipment for maintenance of roofs and other high areas.
