The Quality Control & Safety Manager serves as the eyes and ears of Tory’s Roofing in the field. This role is responsible for ensuring that every job is executed with the highest standard of craftsmanship, efficiency, and safety. The ideal candidate is a seasoned roofing professional with hands-on experience across all roofing systems, a deep respect for safety culture, and the leadership ability to hold field teams accountable while supporting their success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Control
Conduct daily visits to active job sites to inspect work in progress and completed installations
Partner with field foremen to review scopes of work and ensure jobs are being executed correctly, efficiently, and to company standards
Identify deficiencies or installation errors and provide immediate corrective guidance to field crews
Review and document job site conditions, material usage, and workflow progress
Perform final quality inspections before project close-out and customer handoff
Collaborate with project managers to flag scheduling inefficiencies or material issues impacting job quality
Field Safety
Own and enforce the company’s field safety program across all active job sites
Ensure all field personnel are in compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and PPE requirements at all times
Conduct regular safety audits and job site walkthroughs; document findings and corrective actions
Lead job site safety briefings and toolbox talks in coordination with foremen
Investigate and document any near-misses, incidents, or injuries and report findings to leadership
Maintain accurate safety records and assist in updating the safety program as regulations evolve
Develop and maintain a culture of safety-first accountability throughout the field workforce
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Required
Minimum 7–10 years of hands-on experience in the roofing trade
Extensive working knowledge of all major roofing systems including: asphalt shingle, flat/low-slope (TPO, EPDM, modified bitumen), tile, metal, and steep-slope applications
Proven ability to read and interpret roofing plans, specifications, and scopes of work
Strong working knowledge of OSHA fall protection standards and general construction safety regulations
Experience leading or supervising field crews
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to travel between multiple job sites daily
Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred
Experience in solar roofing installations and best practices for integrating solar with roofing systems
OSHA 30 certification (Construction)
NRCA or manufacturer-specific roofing certifications
Prior quality control or safety inspector role in a roofing or construction environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to access and inspect rooftops daily, including steep-slope roofs at significant heights. Candidate must be comfortable working at elevation and in varying weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, walk on rooftops, and stand for extended periods
