Job Description

Summary: Responsible for securing financial resources for Kokua Kalihi Valley (KKV) and for developing written materials that represent KKV's vision and mission.

 

Essential duties:  Grant writing for federal, state, local, and foundation funding sources with a focus on healthcare and social determinants of health; ensuring that programs funded by grants are supported by new or ongoing sources; writing grant reports and assisting program coordinators successfully implement grant-funded programs; and assisting with grants research and development of new sources of funding. Position with work on a small grants team, a large accounting office, and nonprofit administration.

 

Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of two years demonstrated grant writing experience and evidence of successful grant writing skills. Must be able to conceptualize and synthesize heterogeneous sources of information into coherent proposals.  Excellent communications skills are needed as well as ability to work within multi-cultural environment. Candidates must be able to work on tight deadlines and work effectively in a team environment.  Bachelor's degree in related field required.  This position is currently remote but will not be permanently remote.  We strongly prefer that candidates have experience with Hawaii nonprofits, healthcare and/or social services. Candidates must be Hawaii residents and currently live full-time on the Island of Oahu. 

 

ORGANIZATION: Kokua Kalihi Valley (KKV) is a non-profit Community Health Center that was founded in 1972 with the mission to promote health, reconciliation and the alleviation of suffering in Kalihi Valley. KKV provides health care and social services to Kalihi Valley's predominantly low-income, Asian and Pacific Islander immigrant population, working toward the vision of a healthy community in which neighbors help to heal neighbors, and individuals see themselves as part of a larger whole, connected to each other, to their culture and to their shared land.
