Youth Empowerment Specialist

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Empowerment Specialist to join our mission-driven organization. The ideal candidate will possess a deep commitment to youth development and the ability to build trusting relationships with diverse populations. You will work collaboratively with community partners, families, and other stakeholders to create pathways for success and foster positive change in the lives of the youth we serve.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive youth empowerment programs that address social, emotional, academic, and career development needs. Facilitate individual and group sessions focused on life skills, leadership development, goal setting, and personal growth. Conduct assessments to identify the strengths, challenges, and needs of program participants and create individualized action plans. Serve as a mentor and advocate for youth, providing consistent support and guidance throughout their program participation. Coordinate workshops, activities, and events that promote youth engagement and community involvement. Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, schools, and service providers to expand resources available to youth. Monitor and document program outcomes, participant progress, and success metrics. Provide crisis intervention and connect youth and families to appropriate support services when needed. Collaborate with team members to continuously improve program quality and effectiveness. Recruit and retain program participants through outreach efforts in schools, community centers, and other youth-serving venues. Maintain accurate records and prepare regular reports on program activities and outcomes. Participate in professional development opportunities and stay current on best practices in youth development.

Requirements

Minimum of two years of experience working directly with youth in educational, social service, or community-based settings. Demonstrated ability to engage and build rapport with young people from diverse backgrounds and circumstances. Strong understanding of adolescent development and the challenges facing today's youth. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with youth, families, and community partners. Proven ability to facilitate groups and deliver engaging presentations. Experience developing and implementing program curricula or activity plans. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community-based work. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as program needs require. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Cultural competency and commitment to working with diverse populations. Crisis intervention skills and ability to remain calm under pressure. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable but not required.
