Community Empowerment Specialist – Ku I Ka Mana Treatment Counselor
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Empowerment Specialist to join our team in a meaningful role that makes a direct impact on individuals and families in our community. This part-time, non-exempt position offers the opportunity to work with diverse populations while supporting their journey toward wellness and self-sufficiency. As a Community Empowerment Specialist, you will be instrumental in providing culturally responsive treatment counseling services and fostering positive change within the communities we serve.
Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group treatment counseling services to clients participating in the Ku I Ka Mana program
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify client needs, strengths, and barriers to success
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and their support systems
Facilitate educational workshops and support groups focused on empowerment, life skills, and personal development
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions, progress notes, and treatment plans in accordance with program requirements and regulatory standards
Coordinate with community partners, service providers, and referral sources to ensure comprehensive care for clients
Monitor client progress and adjust treatment approaches as needed to support goal achievement
Advocate for clients and connect them with appropriate community resources and support services
Participate in regular team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of service delivery
Engage in outreach activities to promote program awareness and community engagement
Provide crisis intervention and support as needed within scope of practice
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in counseling, case management, or related human services field
Strong understanding of community-based treatment approaches and empowerment principles
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build rapport with diverse populations
Cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs of the communities served
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping practices
Knowledge of community resources and social service systems
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community-based work
Ability to maintain professional boundaries while demonstrating empathy and compassion
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as program needs require
Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
