At Hawaii Foodservice Alliance (HFA), we help move food across the islands and support the communities we serve every day. As Hawai‘i’s largest local supplier of perishable foods and logistics services, food safety is at the core of everything we do.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, collaborative, and proactive Food Safety Coordinator to support and strengthen food safety practices across our operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with teams, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping maintain high food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Support food safety programs, policies, and procedures across HFA operations
  • Coach and train employees on proper food handling and food safety practices
  • Assist with food safety investigations and customer food safety concerns
  • Conduct inspections and audits throughout HFA facilities
  • Identify potential risks and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Maintain accurate food safety records, documentation, and reports
  • Help ensure compliance with FDA Food Code, FSMA, HACCP, and company standards
  • Partner with operations and leadership teams to promote a strong food safety culture

What We’re Looking For

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of FDA Food Code, FSMA, HACCP, and food safety regulations (BRC experience a plus)
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Mid-level Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Food distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, or food service experience preferred
  • Flexible work schedule, including weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel to neighbor islands as needed
