Assistant Marketing & Development Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Assistant Marketing and Development Manager is responsible for the developing, planning, implementation and maintenance of marketing, communications, fundraising, donor relations and community outreach initiatives on behalf of Lanakila Pacific to further the organization’s mission in a fast-paced environment.  This position is responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines and managing a team in developing, planning, implementing and maintaining a marketing, communications, fundraising and donor relation initiatives and platforms including special events, community partnerships, internal and external print and digital collateral and volunteer programs. The Assistant Marketing and Development Manager supports the mission, vision and values of the organization, and upholds and enforces the guidelines and policies of the organization and demonstrates Lanakila Pacific’s values of teamwork, excellence, achievement, and motivation in all personal interactions and upholds and enforces the guidelines and policies of the organization and exemplifies Lanakila’s STAR service standards.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Implementation and Infrastructure

·       Leads, manages and supports in the development, coordination and implementation of marketing, communications, fundraising and donor relation strategies to meet revenue goals.

·       Leads, manages and supports in the development, implementation and maintenance of internal and external digital and print communications, including but not limited to website, social media, brochures, annual report, signage, videos, etc. to promote Lanakila Pacific.

·       Provides direction, support and supervision in the development, planning and execution of Lanakila Pacific special and fundraising events, such as March for Meals, The Good Table, volunteer appreciation and staff events.

·       Oversees Lanakila Pacific’s donation process including donation collection, acknowledgment, platform management and reconciliation of donations and correspondence received from constituents.

·       Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, community partners and stakeholders.

·       Works with the Contract Administrator to coordinate grant applications  including identifying potential new funding sources, writing grants, and monitoring and coordinating required report evaluations on existing grants.

·       Works collaboratively with internal departments to meet departments’ marketing, communications and fundraising objectives while maintaining alignment with the company’s marketing and development plan and strategy. 

·       Manages the department’s plans and budgets.

·       Provides direction, support and supervision to the customer care team to strengthen customer acquisition and retention efforts.

·       Represents Lanakila Pacific at community meetings.

·       Conducts presentations and tours of Lanakila Pacific’s programs and promotes products and services.

·       Serves as a liaison for the media.

·       Provides media & public speaking support to the executive team.

 

Other Duties:

·       Assists with developing the annual budget and ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget through regular monitoring of outcomes and expenditures, on assigned projects.

·       Reviews financial statements, reports, and statistical data to ensure accuracy and timely billing, payment, and reimbursement, as assigned.

·       Demonstrates cultural competency and the ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures, socio-economic backgrounds, and cognitive abilities without bias.

·       Serves as a role model for the staff, participants and volunteers and as a member of the leadership team works to create a healthful and respectful environment.

·       Supervises and directs the day-to-day work of staff, assists with performance evaluations and improvement plans as needed, and appropriately addresses complaints, documents incidents and disciplines employees.

·       Participates in the recruitment process and makes recommendations for hiring.

·       Ensures all safety procedures and practices are followed and enforced, and that safeguards and proper safety gear, such as gloves, are used when appropriate.

·       Demonstrates the ability to work with confidential information and comply with established policies, procedures, and practices.

·       Demonstrates a willingness to gain and possess thorough knowledge of Lanakila Pacific’s programs and seek ongoing educational opportunities related to the position.

·       Performs other reasonably related business duties as assigned, including but not limited to program promotion, representing the organization at events, and fundraising activities.

·       Completes training as mandated by organizational policy.

Required

·       Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Communication, Business Administration or related field

·       Experience: Minimum 5 years of supervisory work experience in marketing, development, communications, community outreach or related field;

·       Skills: Project Management skills such as leadership, delegating, time management, and communication.

·       Clearance/Certification:  1) TB clearance, 2) Criminal background check, 3) Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, 4) Child Protective Services/Adult Protective check.

·       Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract

 

Preferred

·       Skills:  Print and digital graphic design; video production/editing; working knowledge of application programs such as Adobe Creative Suite or other comparable programs

WORKING CONDITIONS/HOURS:

·       Monday through Friday, normal business hours 7:30 am – 4:30 pm. Hours and work days, including weekends and holidays, may vary due to operational needs and contract requirements. Indoors, office setting some telework available,outdoors; may travel to see employees, other program sites, meeting sites, etc., as required.

Compensation: $48,132.00 to $57,928.00 / Year
