JOB SUMMARY: The position of Annual Giving & Events Coordinator is responsible for the effective management of a comprehensive year-round fundraising plan for Maryknoll’s Annual Fund. The Annual Giving & Events Coordinator also coordinates special events including the Kekumano Scholarship Dinner, stewardship events, and others. The Annual Giving & Events Coordinator is a team member of the Office of Institutional Advancement and reports directly to the Director of Institutional Advancement.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

Create and execute a comprehensive, year-round fundraising plan for Maryknoll’s Annual Fund.

· Create a strategy to build and engage Maryknoll’s donor base, increase Annual Fund giving and participation, and achieve other Annual Fund goals.

· Identify, cultivate, and steward meaningful relationships with constituent base.

· Seek and secure gifts for the Annual Fund.

· Create and execute a multi-channel appeal schedule that includes direct mail, online, and other appeals.

· Work with members of the faculty, staff and administration to increase participation and donations for the employee campaigns.

· Work with the Advancement Services Manager to manage gift acknowledgment procedures, maintain accurate giving records and notes, and assure the correctness of information in the annual report and other printed materials.

· Ensures proper donor recognition and stewardship.

· Build gift club membership with meaningful club rewards for membership.

· Build strong relationships with constituencies for the purpose of friend-raising and fund-raising.

· Support the Director in identification and cultivation of major donor prospects from among the annual donor base.

· Work with Marketing Office to create appeals and marketing materials, as well as to maintain the annual giving section on the School’s website.

 

Coordinate Fundraising & Special Events

· Plan and execute events, including the Kekumano Scholarship Dinner and other cultivation and stewardship events.

· Identify and recruit committee members and volunteers for events.

· Assist alumni relations with engagement events.

 

Manage Scholarship Program

· Assist with managing the scholarship selection process.

· Create a scholarship review committee, manage scholarship applications, and build a stewardship program for scholarship donors.

 

Some weekend and evening work required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

· Bachelor’s degree

· 3 to 5 years of experience in a fundraising, development, or advancement office (independent/Catholic school experience a plus)

· Proven capacity to plan, organize, and implement a variety of projects at the same time and with overlapping deadlines.

· The ability to develop and execute long-range plans.

· Independent thinking and decision-making within established rules, policies, and procedures.

· Ability to set priorities and define tasks efficiently and effectively.

· Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

· Ability to work both independently and as a team player.

· Strong people skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with constituents

· Strong and effective writing, speaking, and listening skills

· Event coordination experience

· A strong sense of fundraising ethics ad practices, and respect for confidentiality of donor information.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

· Demonstrable and successful experience performing personal solicitations of annual fund gifts.

· Experience in recruiting and managing volunteers

· Familiar with Maryknoll School events

· Familiarity with Blackbaud onProducts, Graduway, Raiser’s Edge NXT, Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.), Adobe Products, Turbo Meeting Video Conferencing, Dropbox

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

· Full-time, year-round (12-month employee) with accrued vacation. Exempt.
