Merchandising Area Manager (O‘ahu | Multi-Store | Field-Based)

Location: O‘ahu, HI
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Open availability required (early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays)
Pay: Starting at $55,000; based on experience

About the Role

HFA is hiring a Merchandising Area Manager to lead a team of merchandisers across multiple store locations on O‘ahu. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent store execution, maintaining service coverage across shifts, and developing team performance in the field.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will regularly work in stores, support your team directly, and step in as needed to maintain merchandising standards and service levels.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee merchandising operations across multiple store locations and routes
  • Ensure shelves are stocked, rotated (FIFO), and aligned with planograms and display standards
  • Lead, train, and coach merchandisers; set expectations and hold team members accountable
  • Manage scheduling and coverage across shifts, including call-outs and weekends
  • Maintain and enforce safety standards in all store environments
  • Build and maintain relationships with store managers and vendor partners
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members
  • Monitor team performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Track and submit reporting (store visits, audits, mileage, and activity logs)
Requirements
  • 2+ years of merchandising, retail, or field operations experience
  • 1+ year of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience
  • Experience managing multiple locations, routes, or teams preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, field-based environment
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Smartphone with internet access
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods
  • Must be a current O‘ahu resident
  • Must be able to pass a background check for military base access
  • Open availability required
